Important Silver Plated Figural Epergne
This large and handsome epergne is for both fruit and flowers. The flowers go in the trumpet-shaped vase, the fruit in the accompning bowls. The central stem is modelled as a draped female figure with upraised arm. The twin bowls are connected by scrolling arms to the circular footed base.
This is a late Victorian or Edwardian example and would adorn equally, a dining table or sideboard. The effect of this epergne when filled, is one of plenty... a cornucopia of fruit and flowers. It is unusually tall and striking.
