A very fine kingwood kidney- shaped desk (bureau a rognon) with original tooled leather surface, crisply mounted in gilt bronze and on cabriole legs .

T W Muller was a Viennese cabinet maker who worked in Paris in the last half of the I9th. Century . This furniture was made popular by the Empress Eugenie who had made designs from the previous century. The Parisian ebenists often excelled themselves in quality work of which this is a fine example.
