Louis XVI Style Coromandel and Ebonized Fold-Over Card Table
This table, though very French looking, is English. The coromandel surface with eared corners opens to reveal a red baize surface that is framed in ebonized mahogany and has a counter-well at each corner. The coromandel surface and sides are edged with brass beading, The turned fluted tapering legs are applied with brass ornament.
This table opens out telescopically to form a sturdy platform. It is 36 inches wide, which is suggestive of an English origin
