Louis XIV style octagonal gilt bronze three-light Versailles lantern with four levels of graduated bevelled glass panels descending from corona and mounted by shell forms, supported by four mask form straps terminating in grape cluster finial.
The lantern is modelled after the celebrated Versailles model, illustrated in H. Harvard, ‘Dictionnaire de l'Ameublement et de la Decoration’, Paris, 1893, Vol. III, pl. 15.
