This set dates from the 1950s and is full of subtle quality. Each sconce tapers slightly from top to bottom and is set with graduated octagonal jewel-cut lead crystals. The glass is unusually brilliant and the shaped brass separations are gold plated. It is difficult to imagine a more successful attempt at a quality fixture. Even the back-plate is gold plated and plays a part in the reflective glittering illumination. They are unmarked but clearly by Bakalowits and Sohne.
