The Canterbury appears early in the 19th century for sheet music and papers and continues until now in some form. This example has neatly turned uprights. It has a single drawer beneath the magazine racks and retains the original cappings and casters. The form is "boat shaped" with the top rail of the dividers bowed to add a touch of elegance.
