Antique French Louis XVI Style Mahogany and Parquetry Bureau a Rognon
Although of kidney shape, this desk is more substantial than generally found in such a form. The top has a pierced brass gallery enclosing a fanning kingwood veneer. The leather slide-out writing surface is enclosed by a pair of tambour shutters which, when rolled back, reveal small drawers. The desk is flanked by three curved drawers on either side. The desk is tastefully mounted with gilt bronze fittings and raised on toupie feet.
