Pair of French Empire Period Four Light Bronze Candelabra
This Hommage a Egypte pair were made at the time of Napoleon's unsuccessful foray into Egypt. The shaped bases, winged feet and triangular columns are surely inspired by the campaign. The design, attributed to Hervieu, is noted by French specialists. The four arms are supported from a central column modelled with a sphere and owls. The candelabra have been mounted for electricity.
