This pair of Mid-Century Modern wall lights were removed from a building constructed in 1968 for a famous Bauhaus architect. Montreal has several examples of Minimalist inspired architecture and others of Brutalist influence. These wall lights are on the cusp of Minimalism and the Brutalist taste. We believe they are circa 1970. The moulded glass shades are chunky with raised panels of square and rectangular section. The lacquered gilt metal angled sides are smooth in interesting contrast to the rather beefy shades, the rough and smooth textures complement each other.
They provide a warm and inviting light, stylish and intimate.
