Federal Style Giltwood Convex Mirror

Federal style giltwood and japanned convex mirror with carved eagle crest. These mirrors, also called butler's mirrors, were popular in Europe and North America in the late 18th century and early 19th century. This 19th century mirror has 13 gilded balls around the mirror representing the original thirteen founding states.
