Pair of Antique Meissen Porcelain Woodpeckers, Now Mounted as Candelabrum
Each bird is modeled on a stump applied with plants and moss. They are naturalistically modeled with colorful plumage. The birds are mid-19th century at latest. The bronze mounts are early 20th century modeled as stylized acanthus and support three candle arms. They have a patinated bronze finish.
The mark is very like the Marcolini except that it has the extra dot and the swords go down.
