Pair of Neo-Renaissance Bronze and Marble Five Arm Candelabra
These are unusual in two respects: the slender turned columns are in pinkish striated marble and the principal decorative motif involves cherub supporters at the base. They actually have wings as opposed to putti who do not. This motif is echoed by the figural finials. The cast arms and bobeches are slender and the trefoil bases are on a raised slate (black marble?) platform which harmonizes tastefully with the columns. The overall effect is at once imposing yet playful.
