Pair of Parianware figurines mounted on serpentine socles portraying two aspects of the goddess Athena: Athena, the goddess of War carrying a dagger and snake; and Athena, goddess of Wisdom, with a scroll, theater mask, harp and laurel wreath: Mounted as lamps on conforming wood bases. Statues are 15 inches high.
One of these lamps depicts a female figure, allegorical of the muses , with a Lyre laurel crown, and dramatic mask ; the other figure with a dagger and asp is perhaps Cleopatra. as portayed by Nora Creena.
