This superb vitrine was made in the Belle Époque by a accomplished Parisian ébéniste. The violetwood and parquetry case is enclosed by a single glazed door. The finely cast mounts are silvered bronze. The central slivered bronze oval plaque depicts Cupid at the Forge. It is raised on elegant toupie feet and the top surface is in a well-chosen marble. The glazed sides and front are all beveled. The back is upholstered in pale green watered silk.
