A Japanese floor oil lamp, crafted in bronze with a dark lush patina and decorated with enamel in a champlevé technique in floral designs with peasants. It is raised on four elephants standing on a three tiered mount with two styles of cast bronze patterning bands and a mid tier cast with champlevé patterns. Column has alternating sections with champlevé decoration, cast bronze patterning with animal faces, and others as plain bands of bronze, terminating with a bowl in the same pattern to the top for holding an oil lamp font.
This oil lamp has been wired for electricity and fitted with a later molded glass torchiere style shade, ribbed with raised floral designs.
