This pair have the typical shape of boxes from this period, with shaped serpentine front, sloped hinged lid, and boxwood and ebony lines. Each cover is inlaid with an oval patera and inside with a compass rose. They retain their original pierced, inlaid and fret-carved liners for cutlery and also their original lock plates and keys.
Each has a BADA (British Antique Dealers Association) sticker on the slope guaranteeing their antique status.
