This pair are a very good example of the type, from scalloped rim to tapering base they are profusely decorated with flowers, fruit, butterflies and various auspicious emblems, the large reserves are filled with lively and colorful scenes with nobles in a pavilion at a reception, all within an elaborate geometric border. The stylized dragon mounts retain their original gilding. The palette, while lively, is coherent and has none of the clumsiness of later examples.
