American Wrought Iron and Opaline Glass Gas/Electric Lantern
Regular price
$0.00 CAD
This highly unusual lantern dates from a time when both gas and electricity were available, the last quarter of the 19th century. The central part was once gas but is now electric, the shade is a cylinder of wrythen opaline glass, flanked by a pair of down swept lights with matching hanging shades with frilled rims. It unusual to find such a fixture with its original shades
The ironwork is wonderfully idiosyncratic, with curly feet, applied leaves and spirals.
