A set of 3 painted bronzes figurines of African natives by Karl Hagenauer from Austria. We are selling these as a set. Consisting of "Dancing Warrior II, African With Lance, & Attacking Warrior II", this is a set of beautiful mid-century modern ebonised bronze and brass sculptures. Each figure is naked and with spear, shield and gilt trident headdress, one stalking, one walking, the last about to hurl his spear. Each figure is lithe and slender and stands upon a stable round base. They are stylishly modelled and the sculptor has managed to create a strong sense of motion. There was increasing interest in African Art at this time and these figures reflect that fashion.
