This antique Capo di Monte oval box is an unusually large and decorative example of the work of this factory. The decoration is molded with bas-reliefs and painted with scenes from antiquity, and with masks, garlands, winged sphinxes and stylized acanthus. It is marked in under-glaze blue with a crowned N. These boxes are frequently sold as being Italian but are actually German.
